Backgrounds Online is required by TransUnion to ensure that our clients who have access to pre-employment credit reports have completed the
Application for Employment Credit Report Access, the Verification Checklist and have gone through an onsite inspection of the facility where
they will be running the reports. This establishes to the credit bureau that they are legitimate end users of the information and have a
permissible purpose to obtain a credit report.
The onsite inspections are non-invasive and conducted by a reputable inspection company. There is a one-time fee of $75.00 which covers
the cost of the inspection and is simply added to your invoice.

Once the forms are received, Backgrounds Online will initiate an order for the onsite inspection and you can expected to be contacted by
the inspection company to set up an appointment within one (1) business day. After the inspection has been completed, your account will be
granted access to run credit reports.
It is important to note that several states have limited or restricted the use of credit reports in pre-employment background checks. If
you have questions about what is allowed in your state, please contact your Account Manager.
